J.--In these proceedings under Article 123 of the Constitution in respect of the Publication of a news item in the local edition of the Urdu Daily Nawa-i-Waqt, Lahore, of the 27th of September 1970, we passed a short order on the 3rd of October 1970, convicting and punishing all the five respondents, for reasons to be recorded later in the judgment, as follows :- (1)Respondent No, 1 Ezaz Mahmood was directed to undergo simple imprisonment for six months and to pay a fine in the sum of Rs, 2,000 or in default to undergo further simple imprisonment for two months. (2)Respondent No, 2 Arif Nizami to undergo simple imprisonment for two months and to pay a fine of Rs, 2,000 or in default to undergo further simple imprisonment for two months. (3)Respondent No, 3 Shoab Nizami to undergo simple imprisonment for two months and to pay a fine of Rs, 2,000 or in default to undergo further simple imprisonment for two months.
