Mr. Ihsanul Haq, Standing Counsel of the Central Government has been directed to communicate this order to the learned Attorney-General and to further inform him that the main case will also be heard on the same date. 2. Meanwhile for reasons to be recorded separately we are prima facie of the view that this Court has jurisdiction to entertain this petition and to grant interim relief. Accordingly we suspended the sentence of the detenus in so far as the rigorous nature of imprisonment and realisation of fine is concerned. 3. No ball at this stage. MUHAMMAD AFZAL CHEEMA, J. -I agree that notice be issued to the Attorney-General for the 20th April 1972. However, in view of the fact that in the previous writ petition (Writ Petition No. 223 of 1972) filed by Mukhtar Rana an order for stay of proceedings on implied assumption of jurisdiction passed by another Full Bench, to which I was a party, was suspended by the Supreme Court on the ground that the question of jurisdiction had not been decided by the Full Bench. I am inclined to think that no interim relief could be granted to the petitioners till the 20th April 1972. A. R.
