This is an appeal under section 30 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 (hereinafter referred to as W. C. Act). The facts giving rise to this appeal are as follows :-The appellant was a Bus Conductor under the respondent East Pakistan Road Transport Corporation (hereinafter referred to as E.P.R.T.C) and held the badge No. 355. On 8-3-1965, when the appellant was waiting at the Mirpur Depot of the E.P. R.T.C. at about 1-30 p.m., an E.P.R.T.C. bus being E8D 9127 came from the west and knocked him down from behind as a result of which his left leg completely went under the wheel of that bus and he was injured severely in various parts of the body. He instantane--ously lost his, consciousness and was removed to the Dacca Medical College Hospital by Golam Gaus, the Assistant Yard Master of the Mirpur Depot and others. He was assigned duty to the bus bearing number KBA 2723. The accident took place when be was taking charge from the outgoing conductor of the said bus. The appellant after being removed to the Dacca Medical College Hospital, remained there for treatment as indoor patient from 8-3-1965 to 12-1-1966, that is to say, for about a period of ten months.
