KHAN, J.-These are proceedings for contempt of Court under Article 123 of the 1962- Constitution and have been drawn up against Mr. Yusuf Ali Khan, Barrister-at-Law, fn the following circumstances: On the 2nd of June 1971, Mr. Yusuf Ali Khan (respondent herein) wrote a letter to the President of Pakistan, making certain allegations against some of the Judges of this Court including the learned Chief Justice and attacking their integrity and impartiality as Judges. This letter was sent by the Central Law Secretary to the Attorney-General for Pakistan, with the President's direction to lodge information against Mr. Yusuf Ali Khan both in the Supreme Court and in the Supreme Judicial Council for proceedings in contempt. On the 6th August 1971, Mr. Iftikharuddin Ahmad, Advocate- on-Record, at the instance of the learned Attorney-General, laid an information in this Court and sent a true copy of the respondent's letter to the President, along with the information. Then on the 11th August 1971, a formal petition under Article 123 of the 1962 --Constitution was filed in this Court on behalf of the Attorney---General for Pakistan.
