Court Name: Supreme Court of Pakistan Judge(s):Abdus Sattar, Waheeduddin Ahmad, Hamoodur Rahman, Mujibur Rahman JUDGMENT Reported As: PLD 1971 Supreme Court 252 Result: Appeal dismissed Judgment JUDGMENT HAMOODUR RAHMAN, C.J.--This appeal, by special leave, is directed against a judgment of a Division Bench of the High Court of West Pakistan, Lahore, in a Letters Patent Appeal arising out of a writ petition filed by the present appellants for quashing the order of the Chief Settlement Commissioner dated the 16th of May 1960, transferring the Regal Cinema to the respondent No, 3 herein. The appellants are the heirs of one, Miraj Din, who migrated from Amritsar to Pakistan. The said Miraj Din died in Pakistan in the year 1952 and the appellants filed a claim for the properties left by Miraj Din in Amritsar. Their total claim was verified by the Deputy Claims Commissioner, Lahore, on the 31st of July 1959, for Rs, 28,61,144-9-5.
