NURUL ISLAM KHAN (CHAIRMAN).--This is an application under section 25(1)(b) of the East Pakistan Employment of Labour (Standing Orders) Act, 1965, which will be hereinafter mentioned as the Act, made by the first party, formerly Supervisor (Jute) of Star Alkaid Jute Mills Ltd., for termination benefits amounting to Rs. 1,643.65. The case of the first party is that he was employed by the second party as a jute supervisor with effect from 15th September 1966 at a monthly pay of Rs. 200.00 including 25 per cent dearness allowance. His services were confirmed after a probationary period of 3 months. While he was doing his work to the satisfaction of the Management, suddenly he received an order on 27-1-70 whereby his services were terminated on that date. He sent a grievance petition, but he received no reply. Hence this application. The second party submitted a written objection in which they stated that Rashid Qudratullah was appointed as stated by him, and he was drawing a total pay of Rs. 225.00 per month.
