Khadim Hussain Soomro, J: - Through this writ petition, the petitioner seeks the following relief:-

“ It is therefore, respectfully prayed that instant writ petition may kindly be accepted and the respondent No.1 be directed to deliver original Pakistani Citizenship Certificate to the petitioner and complete the process of renunciation of Chinese Nationality according to law to meets the ends of justice and fair play. It is further prayed that respondent No.2 also be directed to complete the process of renunciation of Chinese Nationality and forwarded renouncement case of the petitioner to China Embas sy Islamabad as soon as possible and in this way the respondent No.2 be facilitated through diplomatic channel and said grievance of the petitioner be redressed in accordance with law. Any other relief which this Hon’ble Court may deems fit and proper also be awarded to the petitioner. ”

At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was citizen of Republic of China; that the petitioner has solemnized marriage with a Pakistani citizen namely Abdul Shakoor s/o Abd ul Ghani; that the petitioner has applied for Pakistani Citizenship Certificate which was granted to her in the year 2017; that the petitioner has applied for passport to the respondent No.1, but her request was declined on that ground that firstly she sh ould give -up her Chinese nationality; that the petitioner is ready to give -up her Chinese citizenship, but whenever she approach to the respondent No.2 for renunciation of her 2 W.P No. 1289 of 2025

previous nationality; she was given dates on one pretext or the other. Ultimately, she filed an application to the respondent No.2, which has not been decided yet.

3. Mr. Azmat Bashir Tarar, AAG present before this Court in another case waived the notice of the instant petition and states that he has no objection if the direction i s to be issued to the respondent No.2 to decide the application of the petitioner in accordance with law. Learned counsel for the petitioner also expresses his satisfaction with the aforesaid proposal.

4. In view of the above, this petition stands disposed of with direction to the respondent No.2 to decide the application of the petitioner, which is available at page No. 12 of the Court file within the period of thirty days in accordance with the law.

5. The office i s directed to transmit a copy of the order to the respondent No.2 along with annexures. Respondent No.2 is further directed to submit a compliance report for perusal in Chamber after doing the needful.
