The facts of the case are that Major-General Abdur Rehman had a verified claim for land abandoned by him in Alwar State. He was confirmed on 19th of April 1952 land measuring 744 kanals and 7 marlas in Damoon Chak, Tehsil Kharian, ,District Gujrat. It included some of the land which had been allotted to Jammu and Kashmir refugees temporarily for maintenance. Allah Ditta petitioner No. 1, as a Jammu and Kashmir refugee, was allotted temporarily in lieu of maintenance, land measuring 74 kanals and 13 marlas and Muhammad Din, petitioner No. 2 had been allotted 101 kanals and 2 marlas on the same conditions. There were representations made by the temporary allottees against the allotment but they were not accepted. The Punjab Government in thin behalf addressed a memo.
